The minute we snapped our Royal Blue Noel Collection Metallic series case from More-thing onto our iPhones we new we would love it. It’s shinny, minimal and oh so smooth to the touch! If it sound’s like we’re giddy over this case, well we are. It feels great in your hand and simply looks outstanding on your phone. In fact, although we’re not sure it’s possible, More-thing’s Metallic case might even make your iPhone look better. Seriously. We’re not joking.

The case is a simple one piece design. You just place one side of your iPhone down and into the case and then press the other side down. You’ll hear a satisfying “snap” and your phone is safely ensconced in the case. All buttons and ports are easily accessible via cut-outs. The back of the case also features a circular cut-out so that admiring iPhone fans can still view the Apple logo. The plastic the case is made out of seems plenty stout for a case of this type and no doubt will protect your phone from normal, everyday wear and tear. Just in case you’ve forgotten (you have read all the case reviews haven’t you?) we did not, nor will we ever subject any of the cases/phones in our reviews to a drop test. It just ain’t going to happen.

There really isn’t much else to say about the case except that it looks great on your phone as well as feels great in your hand. Oops! We already said that. The fact is More-thing’s Noel Collection Metallic series cases are functional yet very basic. The cases come in Aluminum, Dark Gold, Rouge and Royal Blue. Oh, and about that whole “Noel Collection” designation: the case looks so good that we plan on leaving it on after the holidays. Don’t let “Noel Collection” scare you into thinking you’ll need to buy another case after the new year.

For a limited time during the holiday season More-thing is also throwing in a free mirrored screen protector and clear logo protector. We were a little hesitant to put the screen protector on as we figured the mirrored finish would affect our ability to see our screen. Our fears were somewhat born out as the protector does pose a problem in bright sunlight. In normal indoor lighting, although it does slightly affect view-ability, it’s not enough to make us want to take it off. Here’s the thing, it simply looks stunning on our already slick looking iPhone. It truly is a sight to behold.

Placing the protector on the screen took a few tries but worked out in the end and as we stated looks amazing. We didn’t have as good a luck with the clear circular logo protector, however. Once you’ve placed the protector on your phone you’re supposed to pull a tab that in turn pulls off the protectors protective film. Anyone that’s ever used a screen protector knows what we’re talking about. Unfortunately the tab ripped leaving a portion of the tab on the protective film which was still firmly affixed to the logo protector. Trying to pick the film off with a finger nail resulted in bending the protector so we eventually just threw it away. It’s a nice idea and if we hadn’t bent it, it would be on the phone right now.

The case and protector come separately (at least our evaluation units did) in nice mirrored packaging which fits in very well with the whole holiday theme. They were bundled together with a nice green ribbon and the package was pretty much ready to plunk under the tree or stuff into a stocking.
